for ian

Ian, on behalf of the class, i'd like to thank you for all you have done, for guiding us through this and for sharing your experiences and knowledge. i can only imagine all the shit you've been putting up with us, showing you our 'great' designs, (as speaking from experience :p). but thanks for being so patient and for being such a great tutor :) I'm sure we all had a great sem having you.

And next time you're on a tv programme, do tell us so we know when to expect ian in action again. haha!
and guys, have fun building the model! yes, dont forget to have FUN! :)

Have a good time in Beijing, Ian!

Thanks for the kind compliments.

There wasn't any shit from anyone really, just raw imagination.

Most of you have "picked up" images and memories along your, whatsit? 19 or 20 years or so. They all have meaning in built form. Coming out with good designs is really like finding a place where each image and memory comes home, and it's like they belong there. And you wonder to yourself why you've never seen it that way before. And that's when your tutor has to come in, like some kind of Merlin to sprinkle stars.

All you need to be assured that the last 3.5 months have been worth it is if, standing back, you can say I'm a better designer now than then.

It takes time to polish raw diamonds until they sparkle. You're only at the start. Relish your beginnings.

I'm probably on again this Sunday night, soon anyway. I don't really know how the story ends. You come in, do your bit, and go home. And check out the website of Dama Orchestra. I do most of the narration. I sometimes sing in church.
